first weekend

By

I’m keeping my usual low profile this weekend. I completely forgot to go to Sewing Together yesterday. Sigh. Since it was first Friday of the month, we were to meet at Springwater Designs quilt shop for their open studio. Instead I bought groceries and slept all afternoon.

I have been weaving on my pin loom in the evening while I stream on my computer. Still watching NCIS (down to the last year of episodes) … but gone to making 4″ squares. Not sure what I will do with them when I am done – make an afghan? Pillow? Right now I’m just keeping my hands busy so my mind can listen/watch in peace. Grin!

That pretty navy/purple/fuschia yarn makes nice squares and felts well. I found another ball of yummy wool and am making squares with it as well:

These pictures are showing up as more blue than purple on my monitor … no telling how they look on yours. Shrug.

I did go out today for a few minutes. My sweetheart decided that he’d like a new Switch II when he saw the one I bought our son for Xmas … so son and I went back to the store to buy one for Skip. I took Hugh because I know from nothing the right hardware to get! Later Skip told me we need a new html switch (??) but that it isn’t urgent. Whatever!

The weather was chilly (low 30s) but sunny and calm today. Nice to be out.

I keep thinking about another temperature recording venture … quilt, embroidery, what else? Or maybe a 100 day project. I’m so challenged by do-every-day exercises that any of the above would be … well … challenging.

PS The daily embroidery form I”m using is designed and sold by Liz Kettle, embroiderer.
