It is now full summer weather here in Maryland. A ‘good’ summer day is about 85 degrees Fahrenheit, at least partly sunny (with fluffy white clouds) and gently breezy. Humidity can range from 60 – 90% here in my area. When it is high, standing in the shade feels much like standing in the sunshine – not much coolth to be found in shade. 🙂

As had become usual for me, it has been a few days (harrumph) since I posted here. I have been mostly running errands (taking my brother grocery shopping, going to the post office, taking my husband to the doctor, etc.) or lazing about. There is one thing I love about being retired – there is no overwhelming reason (on most days) for me to get up at any particular time. Such a treat to lie abed in the morning and read or listen to an audiobook. 🙂

I have been working on my 250th Anniversary commemorative project – my Eagle Block. The embroidery is finished and I have completed the hand quilting around the figurative scene. I am going to machine quilt the background periphery – at least that is my current plan.

I’ve also been working on making junk journals and working in my art journals. That is easy (ie, not hot) creative work to do in this deep summer weather.

Yesterday (Tuesday) I took my brother Kevin out, as usual, for lunch and grocery shopping. I try to see him at least twice a week, on average, to be sure he’s keeping ok. He lives in a condo/apartment about three miles from our house and knows how to use the telephone when he needs help. 🙂

Off to get on with my doing for today – laundry, a bit of cleaning (I already made dinner for this evening), and some sewing. Joy!
