I noticed last Friday afternoon (as I rolled our trash can out to the curb for collection) that my Liatris is blooming with delicate purple spikes. So pretty. π
I feel like most of what I do here is complain about my sleep – or not sleep – issues. Shrug. Friday afternoon was pleasant as I started a new project while sewing with my friends Barbara and Patty.
I bought a new Halloween themed pattern last week to make a foundation pieced dancing skeleton (https://kohatupatterns.com/b/sXmdP). It finishes into a 12″ square block which I thought I might make and donate to my guild (Faithful Circle Quilters) for sale at our show this coming October – ‘Mighty Minis’ is a new feature for this show. I began sewing it by hand (on a fabric foundation) but I’m thinking I will finish making it by machine … not sure that will be any faster as, at 12″ square, there are a lot of fiddly little pieces. π
Last Monday was the monthly meeting of the Wool Club at Springwater Designs quilt shop. I love wool applique and embroidery and have been attending this year. Except I’ve missed more meetings that I thought – coordinator Carol caught me up with materials for the months’ projects I’ve missed:

Good grief! Well, now I have some fun pretty things to make. π I’m going to try much harder to attend in the future. Carol has done a really good job (imho) as a leader – she’s very generous with her time and talent and clearly enjoys the group.
Tomorrow is Grocery Day with my brother Kevin. I am hoping it isn’t too hot outside. I spent most of the weekend indoors and have lost my tolerance (low though it is) for the heat.
